With a passion for British Art, James’s working life in the fine art trade began as a porter at Phillips twenty years ago.
During the past eighteen years at Mallett, as the director of their picture department, he has acquired an exceptional knowledge and understanding of the international art world.
James Harvey British Art is a gallery dedicated to promoting British Artists from the 17th century to the present day.
With an emphasis on the less established names of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the gallery will also promote traditional figurative contemporary art.
Located in Chelsea at 15 Langton Street SW10, the informal and relaxed gallery provides a wonderful space in which to display the eclectic mix of paintings that are united through their British origin and quality.
A primary objective of this new venture is to return to a traditional gallery-based style of dealing with a varied programme of exhibitions that cater to a wide variety of tastes and budgets, with works starting at under a thousand pounds.
